CorNeat Vision: A biomimetic solution to solve blindness
CorNeat Vision is a #medical #device company, founded by Gilad Litvin and Almog Aley-raz, which promotes human #eye #health, #sustainability & #equality worldwide for #corneally #blind patients and those suffering from #glaucoma through innovative #biomimetic medical solutions that are widely #accessible. CorNeat Vision was established in December 2015 to develop, produce, and introduce to global markets a scalable artificial solution for global #corneal #blindness, while eliminating the dependency on #donor #tissue.
CorNeat Vision's goal is to #innovate, and #grow and leverage the power of #partnerships to introduce #biomimetic #implants that aim to resolve medical and #surgical challenges in permanently diversified #therapeutic fields.
The startup is developing four different #product offerings; the CorNeat EverPatch, CorNeat KPro, CorNeat eShunt and the CorNeat gPatch. The first two products, the CorNeat EverPatch (synthetic tissue substitute) and the CorNeat KPro (synthetic cornea) are in #clinical #trials and expected to receive initial approval in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The venture is advised by Ehud Assia, David Rootman, MD and Edward J. Holland.
