yoona.ai: Digital garment design to minimise production waste

Founded in 2020 by Anna Franziska Michel, an experienced fashion designer, artist and IT scientist, yoona.ai is disrupting the fashion sector with its software that creates infinite designs digitally without the production of physical garments, therefore saving corporate resources and allowing companies to minimise production waste.

The design creation process in the fashion industry is inefficient in terms of both cost and time. In Europe alone, fashion companies need over 6 million design hours per year. Yoona.ai’s software solves this challenge by enabling designers to quickly and easily generate designs through AI.

Yoona.ai combines digitisation and sustainability with commercial success. The goal behind the software was to build a global design database that is customer centric and completely data-driven, to offer designers a highly efficient and more sustainable solution to the current fashion design process. By analysing previous and current patterns from the database, the software automatically provides new designs, prints, and collections using Neural Networks (AI) models.
