ExoProTher Medical: Restoring the body’s tumour suppressing capabilities with P53
Lana Volokh and Alex Tendler of the Israeli based startup ExoProTher Medical have developed a novel approach to treating #cancer, by restoring the body’s natural tumour suppressing capabilities.
#P53 has been shown to suppress the development of cancer cells in their immediate vicinity. ExoProTher derives this #healthy p53 and delivers it to the entire body, using #exosomes (naturally occurring nano-particles), subsequently targeting the p53 based tumour suppression mechanisms - which are #mutated in over 60% of #cancers.
The chief scientist of the team is Dr. Yevgeny Tendler who has more than 30 years of experience in cell biology, additional the startup is advised by several scientific advisors including Dr. Daniel Offen and Dr. Avi Treves.
