Studies have estimated that around 63% of our #cosmetics contain #microplastics. Since these were #plastics aren’t filtered by sewage systems, they ultimately end up in the #ocean, polluting the #environment

Founders Zhixuan Wang and Lingqiao Zhu are looking to combat this with their startup. Algreen Ltd. has developed #sustainable and #biodegradable materials to replace the plastics used in cosmetic and personal care products and their packagings through Algae.

They are now also looking to replace both #paper and #plastic packaging in consumer products, boasting affordability through a novel #sustainable processing procedure with low energy cost and minimal waste generating.
