The century old Wilhelm’s castle in Ulm, #Germany now houses innovative #startup companies. They were set a 48 hour #challenge by the city’s residents to create a freezing prevention solution for their homeless citizens.

By conducting research and conversing with the community they concluded that the best result would be to create a one-person sleeping pod – the ‘Ulmer Nest’. Enriched with an #IoT system and modern technology, the Ulmer Nest not only protects from the cold but is also a safe place to spend the night.

The team went on to launch a campaign to get these Nests introduced and even developed a #VR experience to get an idea of how it feels to stay in one.
