ConstellR: Satellite thermal monitoring for farmland to meet worldwide climate goals

The UN estimates that food production will increase by more than 50% in the next 30 years, making #sustainable #agriculture and the health of farmlands ever more essential. Satellite imaging and monitoring software are a key building block to achieving this.

ConstellR uses #satellite imaging to acquire thermal data for land surfaces and help develop a more sustainable #agriculture sector. The high spatial resolution and 24-hour monitoring of the entire planet provide highly accurate #georeferenced data, which is used to generate heat maps and retrieve valuable information.

Founded by Max Gulde, Marius Bierdel and Christian Mittermaier, the technology is a building block for analysing many agricultural factors such as water level, drought forecasts and even crop yield forecasts. Other applications include wildfire, disaster, water quality monitoring, and even identifying urban heat islands.
